2011 Fondere, Napa Valley
Fondere is an Italian verb for “to merge, blend or meld together”. This Super-Tuscan styled wine harmoniously blends Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc to create a powerful yet elegant expression of some of Napa Valleys finest vineyards.
The Cabernet Sauvignon was sourced from vineyards in the Oakville appellation, the Merlot from a small family vineyard in the Carneros appellation and the Petite Verdot and Cabernet Franc from way atop Pritchard Hill on the eastern slopes of Napa Valley. All contributing their own unique terroir to this European inspired wine.
Dark bitter-sweet chocolate, ripe black cherry, black currant, cassis and fresh flower blossoms greet your senses and palate along with a hint of mint, sage, cigar box and deep rich French oak.
This wine is medium bodied with an abundant potpourri of aromas and flavors reminiscent of some of Northern Italy's Super-Tuscans.
